Sharjah, 15 March / WAM / The 19th edition of Sharjah Heritage Days was anchored yesterday evening on the coast of Dibba Al-Hisn to announce the launch of an interesting package of heritage activities, cultural programmes, artistic performances and folk dances for the public for a whole week.
The official opening ceremony of the events organized by the Sharjah Institute for Heritage took place in the heritage village in Dibba Al-Hisn, in the presence of Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in the city of Kalba, accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Vice President of the Municipal Council in Dibba Al-Hisn, Matar Al-Khashri, Director of the Emiri Diwan in the city, a number of heads and directors of government departments and bodies in it, and a large audience of lovers of heritage and folklore.
The sponsor of the opening ceremony, Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Muslim, and the audience toured the various corners of the heritage village and viewed its beautiful components, including the different environments, the child’s pavilion, the handicraft exhibition, the productive families, the academic department, the cultural café and the rest of the sites and places in the village that The interaction and admiration of visitors and attendees.
Dr. Khalid bin Julei Al-Handasi, Director of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage Branch in Dibba Al-Hisn, said that this year’s events connect the public with two important dimensions that unite heritage in the future, and the program of events is rich in a rich plan full of surprises that will fascinate visitors, in addition to holding an exhibition of crafts and handicrafts and a corner dedicated to productive families in addition to the event The new “E-Turath” is directed to young people and young people to familiarize them with the heritage of the old parents and grandparents as the future generation, which in turn will hopefully contribute to preserving heritage and preserving identity.
He added that the agenda of the heritage village activities includes cultural café lectures and academic and educational programs. The audience will also have an appointment to see the presentations of the four Emirati environments: mountainous, agricultural, desert and marine, to emphasize the cultural depth of civilization and the natural richness of this utopian city, with a focus on the marine environment through rowing competitions, sailing ships and small boats. As for the agricultural sector, it will provide induction and training programs on grape cultivation in Dibba Al-Hisn.
Visitors will have a wonderful opportunity to wander between the corridors of the various exhibitions, watch performances and folk dances, and open the way for children to benefit from the interactive training workshops designated for them, while meals and popular and modern foods will be available to all.
The village includes a group of pavilions of government agencies participating in the heritage festival, including the pavilions of the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs, the Sharjah Antiquities Authority, the Department of Economic Development, the Dibba Al-Hisn Sports Club, the Teachers Association, the Sharjah Police General Command, the Badwa Center for Social Development (Irthi), and other entities.
