Sharjah, June 6 / WAM / The Board of Directors of the Sharjah Charitable Society, during its meeting today at the headquarters of the Society, headed by Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, reviewed the existing preparations for the upcoming Eid Al-Adha campaign, and it was agreed to put a tender before the suppliers to determine the most appropriate offer, in addition to discussing the proposals of the initiatives accompanying the campaign.
Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi said that the association has made great strides towards leadership in charitable and humanitarian work, which requires building on it to ensure the continuity of advanced centers in the support industry for its beneficiaries.
The attendees reviewed the results of the last Ramadan campaign and its indicators of success, as the resonance of its projects reached one and a half million beneficiaries, which confirms that the projects that have been implemented have achieved their goals. They also discussed the challenges that the campaign has faced and working to address them in the near future.
The meeting also discussed the external role of the association, through which it is present in more than 110 countries around the world between construction projects, relief campaigns, orphan sponsorship programs, and the need to open other offices of the association in separate areas, especially in West African countries, to ensure the continuity of the association’s mission, as these offices provide the association With the results and reports of studies and a geographical survey of the sites most in need of charitable projects, as well as identifying the most appropriate projects for the nature of the residents of each region, which enhances the role of the association in supporting the needs of the residents of those remote areas.
The attendees valued the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his continuous sponsorship of the charitable work in the emirate, and his continuous humanitarian contributions throughout the year, which had a great impact in advancing the path of charitable work in the emirate.
The meeting was attended by Mohammed Rashid Bayat, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and members Saeed Ghanem Matar Al-Suwaidi, Saleh Mohammed Saeed Al-Qadeed Al-Tunaiji and Dr. Yaqoub Ali Saeed Khalaf Al-Naqbi.
