RIYADH, 10 March / WAM / An official source in the Saudi Ministry of Energy confirmed that the oil refinery in Riyadh was attacked by a “remotely” drone at approximately 440 am yesterday, Thursday.
The Saudi Press Agency “SPA” quoted the source as saying that the attack resulted in a small fire that was controlled, and the attack did not result in injuries or deaths, and neither the refinery’s work nor the supplies of petroleum and its derivatives were affected.
The source said that the Kingdom strongly condemns this cowardly attack, and affirms that these sabotage and terrorist acts, which are repeatedly committed once morest vital installations and civilian objects in different regions of the Kingdom, do not target the Kingdom alone, but rather aim, in a broader sense, to destabilize the security and stability of energy supplies in the world. Thus, negatively affecting the global economy.
The source reiterated the Kingdom’s call to the countries and organizations of the world to stand once morest these sabotage and terrorist attacks, and to confront all parties that implement or support them.
