Emirates News Agency – Saqr Ghobash discusses strengthening bilateral relations with Uruguay’s Minister of Agriculture

Montevideo, September 17 / WAM / His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, discussed with His Excellency Fernando Matos Costa, Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, ways to enhance bilateral relations and prospects for their development, in all fields, during his official visit currently at the head of a parliamentary delegation from the Council. At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Agriculture welcomed Saqr Ghobash and the delegation of the Federal National Council, and expressed his happiness with this visit, which will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields.

His Excellency said: “I congratulate you on the remarkable development that the UAE has achieved in all fields, especially agriculture, stressing the existence of great opportunities for investment between the two countries in the agricultural sector.”

His Excellency accompanied the delegation of the Federal National Council on a tour inside the corridors of the exhibition.. His Excellency Saqr Ghobash was briefed on a presentation that dealt with information on the agricultural sector in Uruguay and the opportunities for cooperation between the Republic of Uruguay and the UAE in the agricultural sector.

For his part, H.E. Saqr Ghobash said: “We feel very happy as we wander through the corridors of the Expo Prado, which reflects, with the numbers of its visitors, exhibitors and various pavilions, the great stride made by the friendly Republic of Uruguay in developing its agricultural sector and developing its livestock according to the best standards and advanced global technology, just as the exhibition reflects Which began for the first time in 1883, the association of the agricultural sector with the history and heritage of the Uruguayan people.
