BRUSSELS, April 5, 2020 (WAM) — NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg announced that the NATO foreign ministers, during their two-day meeting in Brussels, discussed the security situation and threats in North Africa and the Middle East..as well as the war in Ukraine and preparations for the upcoming Vilnius summit.
Stoltenberg said during a press conference that the alliance reaffirmed the support of the defense institutions in Tunisia and Mauritania on this occasion and the extension of stability within them.
He said that the issue of migration was discussed during the discussion of the situation in North Africa and the Middle East, and that the alliance is working with partners in the region on this file, considering that the stability of the Middle East will help contain the problem of migration, “and there is an exchange of information between the Atlantic countries on that.”
