LONDON, March 14, WAM/ Manchester City and Inter Milan, Italy, qualified for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, with the first defeating RB Leipzig 7-0, and the second drawing 0-0 with its host Porto, Portugal, in the second leg of the 16th round of the competition.
At the “Etihad” stadium in Manchester, Manchester City continued its series of successive victories and defeated Leipzig 7-0 to qualify well for the quarter-finals with a huge 8-1 victory on aggregate, following a 1-1 draw with Leipzig in the first leg.
Manchester City largely settled the match in its first half, with three goals for young Norwegian striker Erling Haaland.
In the second half, the team consolidated its victory with four more goals scored by Ilkay Gündogan, Haaland (two goals) and Kevin De Bruyne, raising Haaland’s score to 5 goals in the match and leading the competition’s top scorer list this season with 10 goals so far.
In the other match today, Inter Milan scored a valuable goalless draw with its host Porto, to qualify for the quarter-finals, thanks to a 1-0 victory at home in the first leg.
