Emirates News Agency – Iraqi Parliament holds its first session

BAGHDAD, January 9th / WAM / Today, the Iraqi Council of Representatives “Parliament” held its first session in its fifth session, while the political blocs began presenting their candidates for the two deputy speaker positions.

The media department of the House of Representatives said in a statement that the session’s work includes reading the names of the parliamentarians whose elections were approved by the Federal Supreme Court, then the head of the age takes over the administration of the Council, after which he invites the deputies to take the constitutional oath.

Subsequently, the president of the age announces the opening of the nomination for the post of Speaker and his two deputies.
