DUBAI, 3rd February, 2020 (WAM) — The Human Fraternity Festival, organized by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, in cooperation with the Higher Committee for Human Fraternity, and the participation of Al-Azhar and the Vatican in the “Expo 2020 Dubai” exhibition, continued.
In this regard, the events and activities of the second day of the festival witnessed a wide activity of more than 40 ministries and government agencies, in addition to the active participation of school students and the youth sector from various groups of society.
The activities varied between an extensive brainstorming workshop to develop work to promote the values of human brotherhood within government institutions, with the participation of all official institutions in the country, within the framework of the national initiative “The government is an incubator for tolerance.”
The intensive activities of the festival also witnessed a session of human brotherhood, the first line of defense in the face of Corona, and it addressed the role of government institutions in upholding the values of human brotherhood while working to confront the pandemic inside and outside the Emirates.
The activities also included the Little Brother Knight Program, which is a training workshop for students of public and private schools to raise awareness of the values and principles of human brotherhood, as well as the “Tolerance and Human Fraternity” workshop, in which more than 60 young people from different segments of society participated.
This version of the Human Fraternity Festival is a message of peace, love, brotherhood and coexistence from the UAE to all countries and peoples of the world, as it was keen to launch it at Expo 2020 Dubai to share with all peoples of the world the UAE experience in tolerance, coexistence and human brotherhood.
HE Afra Al-Sabri, Director-General of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, confirmed that the brainstorming workshop, in which 40 ministries, federal and local institutions participated, focused on presenting new visions for the development of the “Government incubator for Tolerance” initiative and coming up with proposals and recommendations to enhance the values of tolerance, coexistence and human brotherhood in government institutions and society, and shed light On the efforts and initiatives related to tolerance, coexistence and human brotherhood accomplished by all institutions represented by the tolerance committees in these institutions, which had the most impact in promoting these values within government institutions, and also contributed to strengthening the UAE’s position as a global oasis of tolerance and coexistence for human beings everywhere.
Al-Sabri added that the brainstorming session produced dozens of wonderful ideas and proposals presented by the participants from the heads of the tolerance committees and representatives of government institutions, related to the four axes of the government’s incubator initiative for tolerance, which are the employee, the institution, the relations between the various institutions, and the relationship of these institutions with the surrounding community, which constitutes In all, an attractive, positive and successful environment, and a society that adopts tolerance and human brotherhood as a way of life.
She indicated that the proposals that came out of the workshop will be crystallized and approved in order to enhance the principles of human brotherhood and tolerance in the next phase in various institutions and in a manner commensurate with the nature of the work of each institution, stressing the keenness of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence to follow up on all recommendations and proposals of all parties As the government project is an incubator for tolerance, it is one of the most important priorities of work within the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, because it relates to the institutions of the Emirates that are role models and model for all groups within the UAE society, and also globally.
His Excellency Afra Al-Sabri also praised the efforts of all partners in ministries, authorities, universities and schools for the activities they provide under the umbrella of the festival, as well as the activities of the “tolerance committees” in the ministries and authorities under the umbrella of the “Government Program for Incubating Tolerance”, efforts that were launched two years ago and continue with further development and success for Iman Everyone has the lofty goals of the initiative.

The Human Fraternity Festival, on its second day, launched the discussion session: “Human Fraternity, the main line of defense in the time of Corona,” which shed light on the efforts of all ministries and governmental and local bodies in the United Arab Emirates to confront the Corona pandemic, and the impact of these institutions’ belief in the values and principles of human brotherhood in this confrontation. .
The Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Community Development, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, and the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence participated in the session.
The session relied on 3 main axes: the Corona pandemic between beginnings, sacrifices and hope, while the second axis dealt with coexistence with Corona between awareness, education and teamwork, while the third axis focused on presenting the Emirates with its leadership, society and institutions as a living model to embody human brotherhood in dealing with the pandemic.
At the beginning of the session, the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence confirmed that the world is facing the effects of the Corona pandemic, human brotherhood is facing a real test, regarding the world’s belief in it and trying to apply it on the ground, as many countries and institutions around the world that were calling for the values of human brotherhood and human rights proved confrontation. It was far from these values, as many practices appeared that harmed the concept of human brotherhood, for example, the piracy of masks and sterilization materials, the monopoly of treatments and the lack of vaccination in some regions of the world, and the unfair distribution of vaccines.
The ministry added that, on the other hand, the UAE had an honorable position in the face of this virus, as it presented a wonderful humanitarian and moral model in confronting this pandemic. It did not differentiate in medical and logistical care between a citizen and a resident, but rather the support, support, vaccination and continuous examination were directed to the less able groups. Counselor Nasser Al Zaabi from the Ministry of Community Development stressed that facing the pandemic at the societal level focused on activating the authentic values of Emirati society, especially encouraging volunteer work, empathy, activating and supporting the role of the family, and supporting the affected parties.
While Aisha Al-Muhairi from the Ministry of Education highlighted the quality and methods of awareness adopted by the Ministry for students, teachers and parents, flexibility, the nature of remote work to protect children and their families, and the development of educational tools to organize the delivery of lessons and curricula to students despite the special circumstances imposed by the pandemic.
One of the most important results of the session was that it highlighted that the efforts of all UAE institutions that focused on upholding the principles of human brotherhood in dealing with Corona were and still are among the best practices at the global level, with the testimony of various international organizations where humanitarian support is for all without distinction in care.
