SHARJAH, 20th June, 2019 (WAM) — The International Photography Festival “Exposure” announced the opening of competition for the awards of its eighth session until October 30 of this year, revealing that the prizes, which are the largest and most diverse photography competitions in the world, are available to professional and amateur photographers and filmmakers from all over the world. the world.

Organized by the Sharjah Government Media Office, the festival receives entries for the 2024 edition awards in several specialized categories covering all photography, animation and short film making, on the following link:

Xposure invites amateur photographers and filmmakers wishing to compete for its awards to submit their creative work with a maximum of 10 images or films within the eight categories of awards that include architectural photography, aerial photography “drone”, mobile phone photography in cooperation with Samsung, nature photography, landscapes and night photography. In cooperation with Samsung, in addition to photojournalism, portrait photography, short films, moving pictures, and street photography.

The main winner will receive a prize of $6,000, the first winner in each category will receive a prize of $3,000, the second place winner in each category will receive $1,500, while the top five entries in each category will be given the opportunity to display their nominated works in the next edition of the festival.

And “Exposure” allocates a ninth category, especially for young photographers, that receives the works of residents of the United Arab Emirates who are under the age of 18, whether they are mobile phone camera users or digital cameras with single lens reflexes (DSLRs) and mirrorless cameras in the free competition. Where the best 7 photos will be displayed within the festival’s activities, in addition to the opportunity to compete for additional prizes that include photography tools and equipment that will be awarded to the first and second place winners. These prizes helped the winners of previous sessions build a successful artistic career in the art of photography.

His Excellency Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, said: “The image has always been an integral part of creating community awareness of various humanitarian issues and a means to improve public taste.
