ABU DHABI, April 30 / WAM / The Emirates Heritage Club concluded yesterday evening the activities of the Ramadan Festival for managing activities in the club, which is organized annually with the participation of its youth and women centers, throughout the days of the holy month of Ramadan.
Yesterday, Friday, witnessed the conclusion of the fourth Ramadan Shooting Championship, which was organized by the Al Ain Center of the Emirates Heritage Club as part of the festival’s activities, at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club. Shooting and golf in Al Ain, and Mohammed Ali Saleh Hariz Al Muhairi won the first place, followed by Mohammed Hamdan Nasser Al Muharrami in the second place, and Nahyan Saif Manea Al Shamsi ranked third.
At the end of the championship, Khalifa Butti Al Shamsi, Director of Al Ain Center, and Mubarak Saif Al-Ariani, Board Member of Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club, Director of the Shooting Club, crowned the winners of the competitions.
The center also concluded the Ramadan Football League competitions, where Al Ain City team won the league title following defeating Al Marial team in the final match that was held at Al Ain University Stadium. In the end, the championship cup and gold medals for Al Ain City team and silver medals for Al Marial team were handed over.
Within the program of Ramadan councils organized by the center, which included a number of visits to the councils, the program concluded with a visit to the council of Mansour Saif bin Afsan Al Khaili, during which the students affiliated with the center learned regarding the etiquette of the councils, “making coffee”, how to present it, and receiving and honoring the guest according to customs and traditions. With the aim of deepening the spirit of originality and heritage in the hearts of new generations, and strengthening their connection to their national identity.
Rashid Khadem Al Rumaithi, Head of Centers Affairs Department at the Emirates Heritage Club, said that this year’s Ramadan festival witnessed a great turnout and distinguished participation by the club’s centers, which enriched the festival with a series of various events and activities related to the national heritage, with the aim of preserving the traditional atmosphere that characterizes the month. Ramadan in the Emirates, and the social customs associated with it, spreading the heritage and cultural awareness of the new generation, developing their creativity, emphasizing the Emirati identity and its continuity, and rooting the authentic customs and traditions on which the ancestors were brought up.
And last week witnessed the conclusion of the activities of the Malih Ramadan Festival, which was organized by the Abu Dhabi Youth Center of the Emirates Heritage Club at the Youth Fort at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of students from the specialized activities department in the club, where volleyball, football, folk games, marine workshops, and fitness were organized daily. and swimming exercises. A number of workshops and sessions were also organized, the most prominent of which was a session for students on the occasion of Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work, where they learned regarding aspects of the biography of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul.
The Emirates Heritage Club’s Specialized Activities Department honored the winning students in the “Best Player” competition during the Samaliya training camp and the Malih Ramadan Festival, where Mubarak Zayed Al-Mansoori won the weight category award, and Saif Salmin Al-Menhali and Rakan Salmeen Al-Menhali came second.
In qualification, Mansour Zayed Al-Mansoori won first place, and Mohamed Zayed Al-Mansoori came in second, and Amer Badr Al-Hasani came third. In the general category, Shafi Saleh Al-Mansoori, Mubarak Walid Al-Mansoori and Hamdan Ahmed Al Ali participated in the first place.
For its part, the women’s centers affiliated with the club were active in a number of programs during the holy month as part of their participation in the Ramadan festival, where the Abu Dhabi Women’s Center organized virtual groups for students, through which it presented a range of heritage Ramadan activities that varied between handicrafts, painting, and decorations.
The students were also acquainted with many traditional tools and their names, and social customs, such as “the bride’s flower.” The center also organized a Ramadan Iftar for the center’s female affiliates, with the aim of enhancing social communication among the female employees, which is reflected positively on the work environment.
Al Samha Women’s Center organized an initiative to support the needy by collecting clothes and presenting them to the Red Crescent, which in turn provides them to the needy.
On the other hand, a popular games workshop was also held for female students, with the aim of introducing them to the old games, their names, and spending leisure time, including “Khoussa Inch, Taq Taq Taqiya, Shabeer Shabeer, Umm Al-Ayal – I am the wolf eats you”, in addition to sewing workshops, Talli, and Khozam making Spinning, making Ramadan lanterns.
Maitha Rashid Al Suwaidi, director of the Al Ain Women’s Center, said: “In our center, we seek to convey the message of the Emirates Heritage Club in preserving the national identity and the country’s heritage through the Ramadan program that we carry out every year to reach all segments of society.”
Al-Suwaidi added: “We started our Ramadan program in the first days of the holy month by distributing iftar meals to fasting people within the Iftar project that the center carries out every year, and the meals were distributed as a benevolent initiative with the aim of communicating and planting love among people.”
In her speech, Al-Suwaidi touched on the lecture that was held at the center’s headquarters in Al Ain in cooperation with the Al-Tawiya Health Center, where a lecture entitled “Your Health in Ramadan” was organized by Dr. Latifa Al Shamsi, who addressed in her speech the importance of fasting and how to exploit the holy month in maintaining physical health, and how Choosing the right food at the right time, and Al Shamsi gave many tips regarding food, drinking water and its time, exercising and other things that benefit the health of the individual.
In her speech, Al Suwaidi indicated that they did not forget the joy of Eid for those in need, so we established the “Eid Clothing” initiative, by preparing Eid clothing to be distributed in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent.
It is noteworthy that the women’s centers organized a closing ceremony in the centers’ branches, during which gifts and certificates were presented to the students who participated in the Ramadan festival.
