Emirates News Agency – Dubai Police launches awareness campaign “Our Children, Our Responsibility”

DUBAI, 22nd November, 2020 (WAM) — The Child and Women Protection Department and the Safety Ambassadors Council of the General Department of Human Rights in Dubai Police launched the awareness campaign “Our Children Our Responsibility”, which aims to protect children from abuse and neglect and preserve their rights.
Coinciding with the International Children’s Day, the campaign was launched with a celebration in the Festival City Tower with the participation of 100 boys and girls. The campaign logo was displayed on the facade of the tower, and then the children, their families and the public launched a symbolic march introducing the goals of the campaign, in which students of Hemaya Schools and K9 security inspection teams participated. And a team of luxury patrols and motorcycles, and a number of stakeholders from the general departments of Dubai Police.
Major General Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Murr, Director of the General Department of Human Rights, said that the Dubai Police General Command pays great attention to children, and works annually to launch programs, initiatives and campaigns aimed at them, out of its belief in the importance of proper socialization of children.
In turn, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ali Muhammad Al Matrooshi, Director of the Women and Child Protection Department at the General Department of Human Rights, confirmed that Dubai Police works by all means and means and launches various initiatives and programs aimed at protecting children from any violation, and that the campaign is a continuation of these efforts.
For her part, Fatima Al Balushi, Head of the Safety Ambassadors Council in Dubai Police, Head of the Awareness and Education Department in the Women and Child Protection Department, said that the Safety Ambassadors Council is a pioneering project and a qualitative and rich addition to the Dubai Police’s preventive efforts aimed at consolidating the security system and protecting children’s psychological, physical, educational, health and other rights. Where the children of the council members were involved to play large and important parts in this important awareness campaign.
She noted that a group of children who have been trained and rehabilitated from the members of the Security Ambassadors Council will raise awareness among their peers of the campaign details, how to report any violation, and the various communication channels, as well as educate them regarding their rights, enhance their confidence, and build their personalities in a safe and sound manner that guarantees their protection from any danger. .
