DUBAI, 17th December, 2022 (WAM) — The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) won the Best Innovative Establishment in Electricity and Water Services award at the 2022 Global Brands Awards in the United Kingdom, affirming its global leadership in various fields.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, confirmed that the award reflects the distinguished strategies developed by DEWA and its efforts in creativity, innovation, quality, customer service, and outstanding performance within the framework of its vision as a leading, sustainable and innovative global institution.
His Excellency referred to the launch of several initiatives aimed at improving the customer experience and developing services and providing them through smart and innovative channels. The vision of the wise leadership is to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world.
It is noteworthy that DEWA achieved many achievements in the field of excellence during the year 2021, including winning the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award in the distinguished elite category, as it achieved the highest score in the history of the award since its launch in 1999, surpassing more than 200 leading local and regional institutions.
The Authority also won five awards within the Dubai Government Excellence Awards, most notably the Elite Award. It also won the global award from the European Foundation for Quality Management for the second time, and the authority is the only institution outside Europe to receive this award, in addition to the “Katemark for Innovation” certificate presented by the British Standards Institute, and it is the first government agency in the world to obtain this certificate.
