DUBAI, 27th August / WAM/ The Women’s Committee at Dubai Customs celebrated Emirati Women’s Day, which is organized this year under the slogan “An inspiring reality… a sustainable future” in line with Dubai Customs’ strategy to support the empowerment of women in customs work.

The celebration of Emirati Women’s Day is an annual tradition celebrated by the department in support of the role of women in society, emphasizing their unlimited achievements in all fields, if Dubai Customs provides an equal work environment for women, and provides the opportunity for female employees to work with enthusiasm and high efficiency alongside men. This comes as a strategic priority for the department to empower women and lead them in customs work.

The celebration witnessed a number of different activities, including the formation of a panel bearing the slogan of Emirati Women’s Day through the interaction of female employees. An exhibition of cosmetics, perfumes and clothing was also held. On the sidelines of the event, a health lecture was held by Dr. Nazem Al-Rifai, a laparoscopic surgeon and obesity treatment at Gargash Hospital, where he talked regarding obesity At the end of the event, raffles were held on valuable gifts presented by the companies participating in the exhibition.

The customs centers at Dubai Customs celebrated the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day, through distinguished activities for female employees, in appreciation of its employees and their prominent role in enhancing the position of the department at all levels in the field of customs work.

Maryam Khalifa Al Shamsi, Chairperson of the Women’s Committee at Dubai Customs, said: “Women in the UAE have achieved a qualitative leap in all fields, and this leap was achieved only with the support of the wise leadership, which provided women with all the ingredients for success and trusted them.”

She added, with this support, women in the UAE were able to excel and occupy leadership positions in which they proved their ability to challenge and assume responsibility to be a strong participant in achieving sustainable development that our country seeks to achieve the dream of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, who believed that women have a great role. in development.

Al Shamsi stressed that women are living a golden era for their empowerment in all respects, especially what was presented by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation “Mother of the Nation” of the package of projects, initiatives and goals that were supported by The Emirati Women’s March.
