ANTANANARIVO, 6 February / WAM / Ten people were killed today as a result of cyclone “Pattirai” that swept the eastern coast of Madagascar, accompanied by heavy rain and winds of 165 kilometers per hour.
The cyclone – whose strength later declined – caused buildings to collapse, power outages and floods.
The damage caused by Patsiri exacerbates the devastation caused by Cyclone Ana, which hit the island just two weeks ago, killing 55 people and leaving 130,000 homeless.
