Emirates News Agency – Costa Rica revives its hopes in the World Cup with a late goal against Japan

DOHA, November 27 / WAM / The Costa Rican football team maintained its hopes for the 2022 World Cup, with a precious 1-0 victory over its Japanese counterpart today, Sunday, in the second round of the fifth matches in the first round of the tournament.
The Costa Rican team scored its first 3 points in the tournament to preserve its weak chance of staying in the competition to qualify for the second round through the third round of group matches.
The Costa Rican national team advanced to third place in the group on goal difference only behind its Japanese counterpart, as the latter excels by a good margin of goals following its surprising victory over the German national team 2-1 and Costa Rica’s defeat once morest the Spanish national team 0-7 in the first round.
