LONDON, Sept 2 (WAM) – Chelsea Football Club announced this morning that it has officially signed Gabonese international striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona, on a two-year contract until the end of June 2024.
Aubameyang became the sixth deal concluded by Chelsea this summer to strengthen the ranks of his team in order to compete locally and in Europe this season.
Aubameyang, 33, moved from Arsenal to Barcelona last February, and scored 13 goals in 23 matches with the team, to contribute to the team’s progress from sixth place, which it occupied last February, to second place at the end of last season in the Spanish League.
Aubameyang said: “I am really happy and honored to be part of the Chelsea team. I am looking forward to the start. I have things I didn’t finish in the Premier League, and it’s good that I’m back in it.
Chelsea also signed Swiss midfielder Denis Zakaria, Juventus midfielder, on loan until the end of the current season.

Milan, the Italian league title holder, included American player Sergio Dest from Barcelona, while Spain’s Espanyol contracted with Danish striker Martin Braithwaite, following the player and Barcelona were separated by mutual consent.
On the other hand, Barcelona regained its former player Hector Bellerin, who recently terminated his contract with Arsenal by mutual consent to move to Barcelona in the last hours before the transfer window closed, in a free transfer deal with a contract that extends until the end of the current season.
Valencia also succeeded in signing the player Justin Kluivert, the son of former Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert, on loan from the Italian Roma.
