LONDON, 13th August / WAM / The British government today declared a state of drought in 8 parts of England, including “Devon, Kent, East Anglia and Lincolnshire” as water levels continue to decline.
Five water companies decided to impose stricter controls on water use, including a ban on the use of water hoses.
The controls come as dry weather, combined with the current heat wave and record temperatures in July, are draining rivers and groundwater reserves.
