ABU DHABI, 30th January, 2020 (WAM) — Belgian jockey Chloe Franken won the title of the “Grand Prix Category” sponsored by Longines in the “Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy Cup Show Jumping” championship in its tenth edition, which was closed on Sunday, following 4-day competitions at Al Forsan Resort. The championship competitions, with prizes of 800,000 dirhams, were held, with the participation of more than 300 male and female riders representing 34 countries.
Some categories of winners were crowned by Sheikha Rawda bint Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Head of the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, President of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, and Dr. Omniyat Al Hajri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Academy, participated in the coronation. Fatima bint Mubarak, and Aref Hamad Al-Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
The Belgian “Chloe Francken” won the Grand Prix title in the CSI2 category with a hurdle height of 145 cm, recording the fastest time of 74.67 seconds in the first round, and 36.87 seconds in the jump, while the French “Ines Joly” and the Belgian “Celine Schonbrot” came in the two places. second and third, respectively.
In the rest of the results, the Emirati jockey, Nadia Abdulaziz Tarim, on horseback “Gabriel Solgior”, won the title of the CSIYH1 category, outperforming the Syrian Sabri Badenjki, Hamid Abdullah and Khalifa Al Muhairi.
For her part, Dr. Omniyat Al-Hajri expressed her happiness with the success and distinction achieved by the championship, and the remarkable appearance of all players from the Emirates and various nationalities.
Al-Hajri confirmed that the Academy is always working to support talents in equestrian sports and show jumping, so that they are the nucleus of new generations capable of achieving achievements.
