Emirates News Agency – “Asian Chess” organizes 3 tournaments for organizers and referees

ABU DHABI, 7th January / WAM / The Asian Chess Federation Academy is organizing, on the Zoom platform, 3 training courses for organizers and referees during this January, within the framework of the Federation’s activity plan for the year 2023 and within the scope of its training programs in cooperation with the International Federation of the Game.
Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan, President of the Asian Chess Federation, praised the efforts of the Asian Chess Federation Academy in organizing the courses of organizers and referees, wishing the participation of a large number of administrators and scholars to support the efforts of the Asian Federation to prepare, qualify and develop technical cadres in all Asian countries, including organizers, coaches and referees.
The first international course was launched 3 days ago for organizers in English to qualify 40 learners from English-speaking organizers from 20 Asian countries, in the presence of Hisham Al-Taher, Secretary-General of the AFC and Victor Bloujan, Executive Director of the International Federation.
Hisham Ali Al-Taher praised the international lecturers and the wide participation from various countries, and thanked the International Federation of the Game for cooperation in implementing the plans and programs of the Asian Federation.
The course was attended by Emirati international lecturer Mahdi Abdul Rahim, Advisor to the Referees Committee of the International Chess Federation, Chairman of the Referees Committee of the AFC, Turkish international lecturer Ozgur, Honorary Chairman of the International Chess Federation Competitions Committee, Filipino Casto Abondo, Executive Director of the AFC, and Iranian Mehrdad Pahlawanzadeh, Advisor to the Technical Committee of the International Chess Federation.
Tomorrow, the Asian Academy will organize the second international session for Arabic-speaking referees, which will continue until January 11, and will be lectured by Emirati international lecturer Mahdi Abdul Rahim.
The Academy is also organizing the third international session for organizers in Arabic via the Internet, from January 26 to 30, in cooperation with the Competitions Committee of the International Federation to qualify a number of organizers from various Arabic-speaking countries in Asia and Africa. The Emirati international expert, Mahdi Abdel Rahim, will also lecture.
The program of the two organizers’ sessions includes a number of main axes, represented in the evaluation rules for the chess tournaments program, the general regulations for special competitions and tournaments, and the annual prizes for the International Federation tournaments.
The referees course program also includes the chess law for 2023 and its latest amendments, international classification calculations, international titles for referees and players, international tie-breaking systems, fair play rules, online and hybrid chess rules, and time systems.
