Dubai, September 26 / WAM / Arab artists and producers have differing opinions regarding the extent of dealing with the significant increase in interest in artificial intelligence technologies in dramatic production and the degree of its danger to the actor, producer, director, and artistic work in general.

While the Lebanese artist Maggie Abu Ghosn expressed her severe concerns regarding its use in artistic works and the actor’s personal presence while accepting to benefit from any technical development, the Egyptian artist Yasmine Sabry agreed to deal with artificial intelligence because it has become a reality and an inevitable matter, which is what the artist agreed with. Syrian Qusay Khouli stressed the need for caution in relying on this inevitable technical development.

Syrian producer Jamal Sinan called for including the form and means of its use in artistic contracts between the producer, director, actor and all components of any artistic work.
This came during the discussion session that was organized under the title “Will Artificial Intelligence Change the Future of Arab Drama?” As part of the activities of the first day of the Arab Media Forum in its twenty-first session, organized by the Dubai Press Club, and moderated by LBC channel journalist Rodolphe Hilal, who initially asked the participants a question regarding the extent to which the artist accepts that artificial intelligence uses his voice and image as an alternative to his presence in the artistic work.
Artist Qusay Khouli said: “We in the Arab region are late in using the Internet and our lives today have become dependent on it for everything. Therefore, we must hasten the use of artificial intelligence because it will be useful for making drama, despite the disadvantages it contains, but everything has disadvantages and advantages, and it depends.” On the method of use.
Artist Maggie Abu Ghosn said that she does not want to use artificial intelligence in dramatic work and should not give in to it easily because drama is feelings, humanity and life that artificial intelligence lacks. However, we are forced to accept it and she said: “It must be used in a way that benefits the nature of the artistic work and benefits us, not harms us.”

Yasmine Sabry strongly agreed with the use of artificial intelligence in dramatic work because it will be an inevitable reality, and she added: “Artificial intelligence is bigger than all of us, and we will not have a decision to use it or not, as it has been planned for years, like anything new that is planned before it.” It becomes a reality, and she said: “From here we must be realistic and accept dealing with it in a way that serves the drama, and certainly there will be property rights included in the terms of the contracts concluded between the elements of the artistic work and how the artist’s voice and image are used.”
Artistic producer Jamal Sinan said: “As artists, we can be smart with artificial intelligence because drama is a spirit and feelings, and we must accept it by imitating the artist in voice and image.”

Qusay Khouli believed that artificial intelligence will continue without stopping, and we will often find solutions to the extent of reliance on it and its use within controls and laws approved by the artist.

Maggie Abu Ghosn said: “Yes, we adopt it and use it to our advantage and to develop some elements of drama, such as images and decoration, with my deep fear of its danger to us as artists.”
In their answer to the question: Who is more intelligent, humans or artificial intelligence, Qusay Khouli said: “It is an ongoing war between the two parties, but the human is stronger because he is the one who invented it, while Yasmine Sabry saw that artificial intelligence will overcome the human even though he is the one who invented it, because of the huge amount Of the information that will be fed to him, which exceeds human capabilities in dealing with matters, she said: “We must be realistic and smarter by accepting it and not be like someone who lives in the past.”
