Sharjah, July 24/WAM/ The Sharjah Sports Council and the Arab Sports Culture Federation announced the details of the Arab Sports Cultural Forum, which will be hosted by the city of Kalba during the first week of next November, in conjunction with the Sharjah Book Fair and the Kalba Beach Games.
This came during a press conference organized by the council yesterday in the city of Khorfakkan to reveal the details of the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Sports Culture Award, which is visiting Sharjah and the Arab Sports Cultural Forum and a number of events, activities, dates and implementation sites.
The conference was attended by His Excellency Abdul Malik Mohammed Jani, Vice Chairman of the Council, His Excellency Ashraf Mahmoud, President of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture, and a number of officials from both sides, as well as representatives of government departments, clubs and the media.
His Excellency Abdul Malik Jani thanked the delegation of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Sports Culture Award for the visit, pointing out that coordination has been made on the upcoming joint events that will be hosted in the emirate and represent a wonderful Arab sports gathering under the umbrella of the emirate and the Sports Council.
He praised the interest of the Arab Federation in spreading Arab sports culture, pointing to the emirate’s winning of the Arab Sports Culture Award for 2022, which came within the framework of Sharjah’s keenness on sports, culture and people, noting that the events that were agreed upon next November will be a real addition and a new enrichment for the emirate.
For his part, Ashraf Mahmoud, President of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture and Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees, praised the emirate’s great excellence at all levels, thanks to the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the efforts of the Sharjah Sports Council in taking care of sports and linking it to culture. Sharjah Award in its first edition is a real culmination of the efforts made.
He conveyed the thanks and appreciation of all members of the delegation for the great hospitality on the sidelines of the visit to the emirate, noting that the Arab Federation for Arab Sports Culture will work in full coordination with the Council to excel more in the future aspects between the two parties and the upcoming events.
It is noteworthy that the visiting delegation toured the city of Khorfakkan, “the bride of the eastern coast”, to see the most prominent landmarks, including the clouds’ lounge, the Rabbi Tower, the Khorfakkan amphitheater, the resistance monument, and concluded with an invitation to dinner and an exchange of shields.
