“Emirates News Agency and “Supreme Crescent” for Motherhood and Childhood Join Forces to Encourage Donations for Syria and Turkey’s Children”

The goal of the campaign is to collect items such as blankets, pillows, clothes, toys, school supplies, and Eid clothing, to help those in need. Donation boxes have been set up in locations such as the Galleria Mall in Abu Dhabi and Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain. Her Excellency Al-Reem bint Abdullah Al-Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, praised the UAE’s compassionate response to the crises and urged the community to participate in this initiative to alleviate the suffering of those affected. ABU DHABI, 13th April, 2020 (WAM) — The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood extended the humanitarian initiative it had previously launched in cooperation with the Red Crescent Authority (from the children of the Emirates to the children of the world). The donations received from it this year will be allocated to children affected by the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey, which they were recently exposed to.

Since its launch, the campaign has witnessed a turnout of donors from children, individuals, institutions and the private sector, embodying the highest principles of human and community solidarity and cohesion of the citizen and resident of the UAE.

This year, the campaign aims to collect the largest number of donations represented by blankets, pillows, clothes and toys, in addition to school supplies, Eid clothing, and their basic requirements in support of them in their ordeal and tragic circumstances, and to contribute and stand with them in facing the effects of the devastating earthquake, and to promote a culture of giving among Emirati children to support their peers in all countries of the world. .

The locations of the donation boxes were allocated in commercial centers such as the Galleria Mall in Abu Dhabi and Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain.

Her Excellency Al-Reem bint Abdullah Al-Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, said that the UAE, with its wise leadership and steadfast approach that was established by the founder of the country, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may God rest his soul), made it one of the first countries to respond to this ordeal that our brothers in Turkey were exposed to. And Syria as a result of the recent earthquake, which confirms its humanitarian presence, which it has always maintained in such events and disasters, and its sincere solidarity with the affected communities, and providing possible support and assistance in confronting them and mitigating their effects.
