ABU DHABI, 27th February, 2020 (WAM) — Heliotech, an advanced vertical take-off and landing aircraft company, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Italian airline GE Avio, one of the latest additions to the investments and companies of the Strategic Sectors Development Fund – the investment arm of the Tawazun Council. With the aim of exploring cooperation opportunities in the helicopter industry by adopting design solutions that contribute to the upgrade of dynamic systems and raise the performance of this type of aircraft in line with the needs of the global market.
The signing came on the sidelines of the “IDEX and NAVDEX 2023″ exhibitions in Abu Dhabi, which concluded their activities recently. It was signed by Sultan Al Kaabi, Senior Adviser at the Strategic Sectors Development Fund and Managing Director of Heliotech, and Paolo Salvetti, Senior Manager at GE Aveo. Sultan Al-Kaabi said that the memorandum comes within the framework of the Strategic Sectors Development Fund’s plans to establish an international supply, manufacturing and production network to enter the global markets, adding that cooperation with GE Avio is part of the strategic partnerships that Heliotech is developing with creative suppliers in This industry to provide pioneering solutions to customers that contribute to a quantum leap in the helicopter industry in the UAE, looking forward to see these products the light and have a strong presence to meet the strategic and operational requirements.
For his part, Abdullah Al-Junaibi said that the international partnerships held by Heliotech confirm the commitment of the Strategic Sectors Development Fund to development by benefiting from international partnerships, in order to develop technology companies and advance them to serve the various strategic purposes.
