Rome, August 25 / WAM / The Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts organized an educational trip to the Italian capital, Rome and the city of Florence, with the participation of 10 female students in the painting and sculpture departments.
The educational trip aims to hone the skills of the Academy’s female members and allow them to interact with international artists and benefit from their experiences and expertise. The visit program included a group of archaeological art sites, the most prominent of which was a visit to the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s Basilica, where the focus was placed on the works of the artist Michelangelo, and the paintings of Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio and Bernini were also identified.
During the visit, the Academy’s female employees participated in many workshops in painting and sculpture, the most prominent of which were workshops with the artist Gioia Reali, in addition to attending full-day sculpture workshops given by Italian artists, in addition to workshops in mosaic and two workshops in oil and watercolor painting on canvas and paper.
Ali Obaid Al-Hafeiti, Director General of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, explained that the aim of organizing educational activities for the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts affiliates abroad is to develop and refine the skills of the Academy’s affiliates and create an interactive atmosphere to provide learning opportunities and benefit from the cultural and civilizational experiences of international artists, in line with His Highness’s directives. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts.
He pointed out that these artistic visits play an important role in raising the artistic awareness of the participants in the visual arts and contribute to increasing the real cooperation between the academy and art institutions abroad.
For their part, the participants in the educational trip thanked and appreciated His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, for the great support received by the students of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, and for giving them the opportunity to learn regarding diverse artistic cultures and benefit from the experiences of international artists abroad.
