Emirates News Agency – An agreement between “ENOC” and the “Ministry of Energy” in Tanzania to develop a storage facility for oil and gas products

DAR ES SALAAM, 1st February, 2019 (WAM) — The ENOC Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tanzanian Ministry of Energy to establish a national import gateway and world-class storage facility for oil and gas products, to provide pioneering services in Tanzania and the East and Central Africa region.

This step is in line with the UAE’s priorities for 2023, represented in expanding economic partnerships in Africa and supporting Dubai’s economic agenda to double the size of the emirate’s economy over the next decade.

The memorandum will lead to preliminary discussions to identify the project requirements and set a framework for the implementation of a new storage facility dedicated to oil and gas products, in addition to developing an infrastructure for importing products related to the energy sector. His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi said: By launching the import gate and modern storage facilities, Tanzania will possess strategic reserves, to enhance efficiency and reduce import prices in addition to providing job opportunities, which will bring many benefits to the Tanzanian economy.
