ABU DHABI, May 23, WAM/ Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, said that the 31st Abu Dhabi International Book Fair presents its new and diverse audience on the intellectual, cultural and cognitive levels and meets the aspirations of the tastes of different segments of society and readers in a way that reflects the cultural movement in the country, especially as it comes following The significant impact of the Corona pandemic on the publishing industry and in the stage of full recovery.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, he added that the exhibition, during its current session, is attended by more than 1,000 publishers from more than 80 countries, providing an integrated schedule of events that includes more than 450 diverse activities that meet the aspirations of the public, including dialogue sessions, seminars, literary, cultural and intellectual evenings, and a large group Among the educational and professional program activities for publishers, and children’s activities, are presented by a group of academics, specialists and influencers in the Arab world. He noted that Germany, the guest of honor for 2022 at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, will open a cultural program with a pavilion of 400 square meters, in which 34 German publishers will display a collection of their books.

The most prominent features of the pavilion include the Guest of Honor theater, which is a virtual reality structure for the presentation of the play “Faust by German artist Goethe and illuminated signs that enable visitors to participate in a creative activity.. Noting that the selection of Germany as a guest of honor comes as an extension of the historical relations that unite the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Federal Germany Embodying the prominent position that Germany enjoys in the literary sector, it enjoys a rich and diverse literary heritage and is linked to the Arab world with deep cultural ties. We look forward to celebrating these links and shedding light on the cultural exchange between the Arab peoples and the German people throughout the ages.
