Tangier, February 7th, WAM/ The Saudi team Al-Hilal qualified for the final match of the Club World Cup, by defeating Brazilian Flamengo 3-2 today, Tuesday, in the semi-finals of the 19th edition of the tournament, which is currently being held in Morocco.
Al Hilal became the third Arab team to qualify for the final match of the tournament, following Moroccan Raja Casablanca in 2013 and Al Ain UAE in 2018.
Al-Hilal also became the third team from Asia to qualify for the final match; Where the Japanese Kashima Antlers had previously qualified for the final in the 2016 edition, then Al Ain in 2018.
Al-Hilal will meet in the final next Saturday with the winner of the other match in the semi-final round of the championship, which brings together Al-Ahly of Egypt and Real Madrid of Spain, while Flamengo will meet the loser in this match on Saturday also in the third-place match.
Al-Hilal ended the first half in his favor with two goals scored by Salem Al-Dosari from two penalties in the 4th and 9th minutes of stoppage time for this half, in exchange for a goal scored by Pedro Jeremy in the 20th minute.
In the second half, Luciano Vietto added the third goal for Al-Hilal in the 70th minute, while Jeremy scored the second goal for him and the Brazilian team in the first minute of stoppage time for the match.
The eighth minute of stoppage time for the first half witnessed the expulsion of the player, Gerson, from the ranks of Flamengo, following he caused the second penalty kick for Al Hilal.
