Emirates News Agency – 5 dead and 19 injured in three earthquakes in southern Iran

TEHRAN, 2 July, WAM/ At least five people were killed and 19 injured, following three earthquakes with a magnitude of more than 6 struck southern Iran at dawn today.

Iranian media said that “3 earthquakes with a magnitude of 6.1, 6.1 and 6.3 (on the Richter scale) struck areas in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, at dawn today, Saturday.”

It quoted the Hormozgan province authorities as saying that dozens of seismic followingshocks killed 5 people and injured 19 others, while most of the damage occurred in the village of Sayeh Khoush, where the earthquakes destroyed most of its homes.
