Emirates News Agency – 46,560 volunteer hours for DEWA employees at Expo

DUBAI, May 7 / WAM / 177 volunteers from the employees of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority carried out 46,560 volunteer hours at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The volunteers participated in many activities during the global event, ranging from guiding visitors, answering their inquiries, participating in organizing school tours, helping organize entry, receiving VIPs, assisting country pavilions managers with introductory explanations for visitors and translating texts and correspondence with the Expo 2020 Dubai administration.

They also participated in organizing activities and events such as the UAE National Day, Women’s Day, Haq Al Laila, New Year’s Day, International Volunteer Day and others, and participated in events and conferences organized during the exhibition period, such as the World Government Summit, WETEX and Dubai Solar Energy, in addition to managing the authority’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, praised the volunteering employees of the Authority and praised their efforts during Expo 2020 Dubai and their keenness to present an honorable image of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates and make Expo 2020 Dubai an unforgettable experience for millions of visitors from around the world.

Al Tayer also commended the efforts of the DEWA team, which ran the DEWA pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, which attracted 1,044,743 visitors during the exhibition period, while praising DEWA’s smart and innovative projects and initiatives and its efforts in the field of sustainability.

The volunteers expressed their pride that they were part of this historic event that brought the whole world together on the land of the UAE, stressing that their volunteer participation in Expo 2020 Dubai and other events is a national duty to return the favor to the country.
