Madrid, September 12 / WAM / 42 exhibitions are being held around the world to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the artist Pablo Picasso, extending from the Prado Museum in Madrid to the Pompidou Center in France, passing through the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
In a statement to reporters, Miguel Esita said, during his launch today of the activities of the “Picasso Year” at the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, that 38 important institutions in Europe and the United States are participating in this event, which France and Spain have prepared for. over a period of 18 months.
In front of Picasso’s painting “Guernica” in 1937, which is one of the most famous works in the world, Isita pointed out that the purpose of the “Year of Picasso” is to introduce the artist as he was and to highlight his artistic heritage and the permanence of his works.
