DUBAI, 16th June, 2020 (WAM) — The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority attaches great importance to the happiness of its employees of determination and has launched many initiatives and programs to empower them and enhance their integration into the work environment and in society.
These efforts contributed to the happiness rate of DEWA’s employees of People of Determination reaching 99.33% in 2021, compared to 92% in 2015.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said, “The authority is keen to integrate and empower its employees of people of determination by providing a qualified and flexible environment that allows them to unleash their energies and prove their capabilities in line with the national policy to empower people of determination launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with the aim of creating an inclusive society free of barriers that guarantees empowerment and a decent life for people of determination and their families, and the “My Community… A Place for Everyone” initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai Chairman of the Executive Council, which aims to transform Dubai completely into a friendly city for people of determination. The authority is committed to integrating and empowering people of determination within four axes, including: employees, customers, society and partners.
For his part, Dr. Youssef Ibrahim Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of the Business Support and Human Resources Sector at the authority, confirmed that the authority is working to align its strategy with local and federal strategies in the field of integrating and empowering people of determination and is keen to develop the capabilities of employees and train them on how to deal with people of determination, as the total number of employees has reached Trained 8,443 employees. The number of employees of people of determination in the Authority increased to 40 employees who were provided with all the tools, equipment and devices that enable them to perform their duties in the best way to achieve equal opportunities with others. Their happiness rate reached 99.33% in 2021 for the fourth year in a row.. The happiness of their families is 96.3%.
It is noteworthy that the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority was able to achieve all strategic and operational indicators in the field of inclusion and empowerment of people of determination for the year 2021, and that all buildings and facilities affiliated to the authority are prepared according to the Dubai Code by 100% to facilitate the access of employees of people of determination to services, buildings and facilities. The DEWA website and its smart application match 100% of 10/10 according to the Accessibility Assessment Report for People of Determination issued by Dubai Digital.
