Amman, March 24/WAM/ Our national team won the Arab Judo Championship for the youth category with 3 gold medals, an unprecedented achievement for the first time in its history, with the start of the Arab Championship for Teams and Clubs yesterday.

Emirati champion Hareb Abdul Rahman Jumaa Ali won gold in the over 100 kg weight, after overtaking the champions of Jordan and Saudi Arabia, while his rising colleague Ahmed Jassim Al-Tumairi won the gold under 60 kg, by defeating the champions of Algeria, Jordan and Iraq, then Syria in the final, and the hero Saeed Al Naqbi was crowned He won gold in the under 73 kg weight category, overtaking the champions of Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, Palestine, and then Jordan in the final.

The competitions were launched under the auspices of Prince El Hassan bin Talal in the Arena Hall at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, with the participation of 315 male and female players from 17 countries: the UAE, Djibouti, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Syria, and Egypt. And Yemen and Lebanon, along with Jordan, the host country. The Kuwaiti national team ranked second with two golds in the youth category, and Jordan came third with one gold, along with the Algerian and Syrian teams. Our men’s team will play its team matches tomorrow, Friday.

The mission received the congratulations of His Excellency Mohammed bin Thaloub Al-Dari, President of the Emirates Wrestling and Judo Federation, for the achievement, praising the efforts of the young man in achieving a precious, important and unprecedented title, noting that it will be an incentive for the rest of the team members to achieve more positive results during the tournament competitions, which includes many strong teams. .
