Ajman, July 25 / WAM / The economy of the Emirate of Ajman is witnessing remarkable growth as a result of the various components, competitive advantages and investment opportunities that the emirate possesses, and the facilities and services provided by the Ajman government to develop the economic sector and enhance its competitiveness.
In this regard, the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry made a qualitative leap in the indicators of membership numbers during the first half of this year, with a growth of 12% compared to the same period in 2021, where the total new and renewed membership reached 22,206 membership to include all types of “commercial, industrial and professional licenses”. and liberal professions”, compared to 19,866 memberships.
His Excellency Abdullah Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ajman Chamber, in statements to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, attributed this remarkable growth in the number of memberships during the first half of this year and its repercussions on the Chamber’s business, services and future projects provided to the community and the business environment in the region to several factors, including support The government administration of the Emirate of Ajman for the economic sector and the expansion and development of the Emirate’s infrastructure, especially during the past three years, through the establishment and completion of an advanced road network in facilitating the movement of transport and the advancement of industrial areas.
In this regard, Al Muwaiji pointed out the keenness of the Ajman Chamber, in cooperation with its partners from local and federal authorities, to stimulate the business environment and create a fertile economic environment for business owners and those who are willing to start new activities and investments, stressing the Chamber’s constant endeavor to develop its services in a way that matches the aspirations of its members from business owners, in order to achieve For its strategic objectives aimed at enhancing the sustainability and growth of the business community, anticipating and shaping the future of business and enhancing the potentials of competitiveness and leadership.
The membership of commercial licenses grew by 8%, with a total of 11,671 memberships during the first half of 2022, compared to 10,810 memberships. Industrial membership also got the same 8%, as the number of industrial activities membership reached 683, compared to 634, and professional membership increased to 9,500. Membership with a growth rate of 15% compared to 7,802 memberships, and the membership of the liberal professions increased by 42% to reach 803 memberships during the first half of this year, compared to 567 memberships during the first half of 2021.
On the efforts made by the Ajman Chamber to enhance its role in economic promotion, His Excellency Abdullah Al Muwaiji affirmed that the Ajman Chamber is strengthening its efforts in promoting the emirate’s economy and opening new markets for local products by diversifying its participation in exhibitions and external events and providing an opportunity for business owners to participate under the umbrella of the Ajman Chamber, as well as promoting External relations with officials from embassies, consulates and commercial centers to discuss opportunities for increasing economic cooperation and increasing the volume of intra-trade between Ajman and its counterparts from the world.
He noted that the Chamber participated this year with a delegation from the emirate’s factories in the “EGYPS2022 Exhibition and Conference”, and a delegation from the factories of the Emirate of Ajman that produce perfumes participated in the Cosmotista fair in Casablanca.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ajman Chamber pointed out that the Ajman Chamber is constantly seeking to implement best practices to ensure ease of doing business and promoting the economy at the local and external levels, in addition to providing a service environment characterized by flexibility and speed of procedures, pointing out that the Ajman Chamber communicates with business owners by intensifying its field visits and providing “Ishaar platform” aims to enhance the effective participation of the private sector in upgrading the economic sector, expressing opinions and monitoring challenges in order to grow and sustain business and attract investments.
