Competitions for the fourth round of the “Emirates Modern Sailing Champion” championship were concluded in the capital, Abu Dhabi, which witnessed participation of 117 sailors across the various categories of the championship, in addition to participants in the sailing category for people of determination, with strong international participation from Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Malaysia. , and Singapore.
The competition, which lasted over two days, gave victory to Edward West in the “Optimist Junior” category, and Cornelia Bajak came second, and Jean-Luc Herve came third, all from the Dubai Offshore Club. In the Optimist Girls category, Cornelia Bajak took first place. Tong Xanya from Singapore came in second, and Madiya Al Neyadi from the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy came in third place. In the General Optimist, first place was achieved by Edward West, Simone Hristov from the Abu Dhabi Academy came in second, and third was Cornelia Bajak, who climbed the podium 3 times in various categories. .
In the girls’ elk 4 category, Marwa Al Hammadi from Abu Dhabi Academy achieved first place, then Eva Hardy from the Dubai Offshore Club, and Al Yazya Al Hammadi from Abu Dhabi Academy. In the general elk 4 category, first place was achieved by Marwa Al Hammadi, then Muhammad Al Owais from Al Hamriyah Club, and second. Shams from Qatar.
In the 6-girl Elka category, first place was won by Philip Fan from the Dubai Offshore Club, then Cairnita Binti Mohd from Malaysia, and Eva Wycherley from the Dubai Offshore Club came in third place.
In the General Elka 6 category, Philip Fan took first place, Othman Al Hammadi came second, and Mohammed Al Hammadi from Abu Dhabi Academy came third.
In the Elka 7 Grand Master category, Richard Wood won first place, John Carpenter came second, and Rob McLachin third. In the Elka Master category, John Woolcock won first place, Adel Khaled from Al Hamriyah Club came second, Manaf Al Waheeb from Kuwait came third, and in the Elka Grand Master category. 7 Overall, Joost Van Aanholt came in first place, John Woolcock came in second, and Hamza Ismail Al Ali from the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy came in third.
In the sailing category for people of determination, the first place in the Bahia Laser category, the second level, was achieved by Ghala Ali Hussein, then Alia Abdullah Al Muhairi, Omar Al Hammadi, and Muhammad Al Zubaidi, and in the third level for the Bahia Laser, Omar Al Hammadi and Hamad Al Zubaidi came in first place, and came in second. Salman Al-Hammadi and Saleh Fahd, third were Khaled Al-Ali and Zayed Ahmed, fourth were Yousef Al-Jawader and Abdullah Sultan, and fifth were Muhammad Al-Junaibi and Nasser Al-Mahri.
