Abu Dhabi: The Central Bank has announced that the National Identity Card will now be sufficient for financial transactions in the UAE. The decision follows the introduction of a visa with an Emirates ID instead of a passport.
For those with a residence or work visa in the UAE, an ID card is sufficient at banks and financial institutions. The Central Bank passed the notification to banks, money exchanges and companies.
Following the unification of applications for visas and ID cards, the Federal Authority for Identity Citizenship, Customs and Port Security decided to provide training to typing center staff.
Visa entry into the passport has been suspended since 11 p.m. Visa stamping will continue in some places for the time being until the new system is fully implemented in all emirates.
Passengers must show ID card
People from outside the country have to show their ID card along with their passport at airports on their return. If you do not have an ID, you can copy it from the Federal Authority for Identity Citizenship, Customs and Port Security website or through the app.
