Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airlines, said that the airline holds 30% of the first-class seats on carriers around the world, indicating that 85% of the Emirates Airline fleet provides first-class service, stressing that this matter achieves a very great success for the airline.
This came in statements made by Tim Clark in an interview with “The Australian” newspaper, on the sidelines of the International Air Transport Association summit in Istanbul.
And he added, “During my flight from Dubai to Istanbul, there was not a single unoccupied seat in the first class.
He added: This is very important for us. This comes as Emirates Airlines indicates that it has a very strong level of bookings for the next nine months.
Clark stressed that there will be a shortage of seats with the exit of 120 giant A380 double-decker aircraft from service by 2032-2033 at the latest and in the absence of a similar alternative.
And he confirmed that Emirates Airlines has dozens of other large aircraft on demand, such as: A350s and Boeing 777-9s, but he reaffirmed that none of them will match the A380 in terms of size and capacity.
Emirates Airlines, which is the largest operator of the A380, has warned of a shortage of airline seats, with the departure of 120 of the airline’s superjumbo jets within ten years.
The Emirates chief expressed his frustration that Airbus and Boeing had ignored repeated calls from carriers to develop a more environmentally friendly A380.
He added, “If the A380 is out of service, and the next alternative is the 777, which is 200 fewer seats, what will happen is a shortage of supply, which will lead to an increase in prices.”
