Emirates Airline Festival of Literature: Dubai Culture’s Support and Participation in International Literary Events

The Acting Director General and Executive Director of the Support Operations Sector at Dubai Culture, Mansour Lootah, visited the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, which is held at the InterContinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City, and continues until the sixth of February, and witnesses the organization of a variety of events. Evenings, dialogue sessions, and interactive workshops, with the participation of an elite group of international writers, writers, and thinkers. This visit comes within the framework of Dubai Culture’s support for the 16th session of the festival, and its efforts to enable Emirati intellectuals to express their rich visions and ideas, and to motivate them to participate in all international literary and intellectual events and festivals.

Lootah, accompanied by the Executive Director of the Arts and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, toured a wide range of the festival, during which he was briefed on a group of activities and workshops hosted by the festival, praising the qualitative activities that the cultural event offers and what it includes. “In the Emirates” axis programme, sponsored by “Dubai Culture”.

Lootah and Bin Kharbash witnessed the “The World as an Open Book” session, in which Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, discussed the idea of ​​innovative travel platforms that contribute to motivating visitors to explore Dubai. As part of the “In the Emirati” theme, in which about 52 writers and creative people will participate and will speak in more than 30 dialogue and discussion sessions, festival visitors will be treated to a wide variety of workshops, including the “The Opposite Direction… Between the Writer and the Publisher” session, which hosts: Nahid Al Shawa, Khaled Al Nasiri, Asmaa Al Zarouni, Ahmed Abdel Latif, Dr. Abdulaziz Al Muslim, novelist Saud Al Sanousi, and writer Najwa Barakat, participate in the session “Nostalgia Tape with the Generation of Good People,” and the session “Our Homeland… from the Gulf” witnesses the participation of writer Dubai Abulhoul, CEO of the “Fikr Foundation”, Khalifa Al Suwaidi, author of the book “After the Arab Spring”, Dr. Ammar Shams, and other sessions.
