Doha: The Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has arrived in the UAE to offer his condolences on the death of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. On Sunday, the Emir called on the new President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to offer his condolences. Arriving at the Abu Dhabi Presidential Airport, the Emir and his entourage met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and expressed their condolences to Al Nahyan’s family and the Emirati people.
President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in person to escort the emir, who had returned from a brief visit, to the presidential airport.
On Saturday, the Emir’s Special Envoy Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani also visited the UAE to offer his condolences. Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani, Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani, Sheikh Juan bin Hamad Al Thani and Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani also visited Abu Dhabi on Saturday to share their grief.
Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s visit to the UAE for the first time since the four – nation embargo on Qatar in 2017.
