Emily in Paris (Netflix): in season 3, a heroine at the time of choice

Just in time for the holidays, the world’s lightest series returns for ten new episodes that stay true to the fundamentals of the previous ones. But beware: in this third season, indecision seriously threatens Emily’s perfect little Parisian life.

Officially Parisian

That’s it, following two seasons in our beautiful capital, Emily Cooper is officially one of us. At least that’s what the slogan of this third season says. Obviously, the cliffhanger at the end of the previous one was not quite one and Emily does not return to Chicago, despite the power of the wind received during her visit to Gabriel, once more in a relationship with Camille, with whom he lives from now on.

Emily stays in Paris all the longer because her mentor Madeline needs her to save the Savoir agency, depopulated following the departure of Sylvie, Luc and Julien, who have left to found their own competing box by taking on a few big Savoir clients with them. .

The problem is that Emily is also tempted to respond positively to Sylvie’s proposal to join her. Unable to let go of Madeline, still pregnant up to her neck, Emily tries to work for her and Sylvie at the same time without telling them, with the result you can imagine.

Not choosing is still choosing

In terms of love life, the choice is apparently easier to make, since Gabriel has left with Camille and the handsome Alfie reaches out to Emily. Yes, but here too, things get complicated: Alfie has to go back to London, and the sexual tension between Emily and Gabriel is still present, even if they now claim to be limited to friendship.

Suffice to say that the love triangle of the second season is still relevant, and Alfie is not going to disappear like that, since the actor Lucien Laviscount (seen this year in Threesome on CANAL+) joins the main cast for the first time.

We also discover two new faces this season: Melia Kreiling (Filthy Rich on Disney+) plays Sofia Sideris, a Greek artist whose exhibition in Camille’s gallery takes a surprising turn, and Paul Forman plays Nicolas de Leon, a wealthy, ambitious heir with a necessarily devastating physique.

A well-rehearsed recipe

Since we have just made this reminder, fans can be reassured: the series retains in this third season all the ingredients of the very special recipe of the two previous ones. Even if she now sports a fringe of the most beautiful effect, the actress Lily Collins thus always connects the improbable outfits at a surreal rhythm.

And if it still surveys a fantasized postcard Paris (Molitor swimming pool, Jules Verne restaurant at the Eiffel Tower, Buttes Chaumont…), the series is once once more leaving the fifth arrondissement to venture on the roads of France, since ‘Emily finds herself in particular in the Loire and in Provence.

In short, the most beautiful French landscapes that make tourists dream, and which allow, among other things, Emily in Paris to remain one of Netflix’s most singular phenomena since its appearance in 2020. Fans of the series the Darren Star can also rub their hands: the success is such that it has already been renewed for a fourth season by the platform.
