A few days before the world premiere of her movie “Oppenheimer”, and in order to spend more time with her family, American star Emily Blunt announced that she would retire from the screen for a year and take a break from acting, in order to be closer to her two young daughters.
The announcement came during a “podcast” from the iHeart platform with American journalist Bruce Dozy, where Blunt confirmed that she thought a lot and reached an important decision, which is the need to spend more time with her two daughters, Hazal and Violet, and her husband, John Krasinski, during the remainder of 2023 and the beginning of 2024.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Blunt, in response to a question regarding her future work, revealed that she is not currently working, and has rejected many of the scenarios that were presented to her, in compliance with the decision to stay close to her family.
Despite her temporary retirement, the “Hollywood Reporter” confirmed that Blunt will not be absent from the screen due to the upcoming second show next month of her “English” series on the “Prime Video” platform, which premiered in October 2022.
There is also a list of works awaiting its release date, including: “Pain Wrestlers” with Chris Evans in October 2023, and “Falling Boy” with Skipper Gowelling in January 2024.
Blunt explained the reasons for her temporary retirement, pointing out that the matter is due to the need to take care of her two young daughters, 7 and 9 years old, who have always been unable to provide them with the most basic rights of care because of her many artistic works.
