Dibu Martínez was honored by Aston Villa prior to the match against Fulham. The English club recognized the best goalkeeper in the world, as seen in a giant flag in one of the stands that had his face and said “The Best in the World.” The 31-year-old goalkeeper from Mar del Plata appeared with his son in the first match he played at home after receiving the Lev Yashin Award at the Ballon d’Or presentation.
Before some 42 thousand spectators who filled the stands of the Villa Park stadium in Birmingham, the goalkeeper entered the playing field alone accompanied by little Santiago.
