According to the Medical Examination and Treatment Administration – Ministry of Health, the total number of patients remaining at medical examination and treatment facilities at 7 am on January 26. .2023 ie the 5th of Tet is 102,623 patients.

During the past Tet holidays, many medical officials and staff across the country have taken turns to celebrate Tet in hospitals, in order to ensure medical examination and treatment for people, especially at emergency units.

On the followingnoon of January 26 (the 5th of the Lunar New Year), talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, Dr. BS Nguyen Anh Tuan – Director of A9 Emergency Center – Bach Mai Hospital said: “During the past Lunar New Year holidays, Bach Mai Hospital, A9 Emergency Center has a plan on emergency duty, ensuring the best medical examination and treatment for people.

Professionally, we have built scenarios to prevent overcrowding, respond to situations of sudden increase in patients such as traffic accidents, fires and explosions, and fight new developments of COVID-19 in case the epidemic increases. If there are many severe cases, there are plans to respond to ensure safety during the Tet holiday for people.”

“For staff on duty, we arrange the second shift to be on duty for the first shift, when mobilized, doctors and nurses will be present immediately to support, on duty at 4 levels from leadership, expertise, logistics to insurance. guard,” said the director of the A9 Emergency Center.

Commenting on the situation of emergency patients during this year’s Tet holiday, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan said that although there were no serious accidents, fires and explosions during Tet this year, the number of emergency patients entering the A9 Emergency Center still double normal days, mainly in critically ill patients.

“Except for the first day of Tet, every day the Center receives regarding 300-350 emergency cases, of which there are regarding 20 cases of daily-life accidents, traffic accidents, and surgical emergencies. The rest are mainly medical emergencies. Severe patients, resuscitated patients are transferred from the provincial level,” said Dr. Tuan.

By the end of the 5th day of the Lunar New Year, emergency work at Bach Mai Hospital still took place normally and smoothly, ensuring enough manpower, equipment, machinery, and medicine. People are on Tet holiday, but almost the hospital has not had a Tet holiday, medical staff and staff have regularly maintained the operation of the hospital, completing the task of saving and treating patients.

According to a report by the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment – the Ministry of Health, during the Lunar New Year holidays of 2023, all medical examination and treatment facilities held full-time 4 levels, performing medical examination and emergency for 65,455 patients, an increase of 28.5% compared to the same day of the Tiger New Year 2022, inpatient treatment of 29,739 patients (accounting for 64%) an increase of 36.9% compared to the same day of Lunar New Year 2022, transfer of 2,589 patients .
