Currently, the high-quality development of meteorology in Guangxi is facing new situations, new opportunities and new challenges. Continuously strengthen the “leading” role of accurate forecasting, strengthen basic support for precision monitoring, promote the in-depth application of artificial intelligence and big data, and enhance the scientific and technological support capabilities for climate change.
Focus on strengthening the sea and build a characteristic system. Along the coast and along the river, Guangxi has the unique geographical advantage of “one bay holding eleven countries together”. We will broaden our horizons toward the sea, build consensus on the sea, strengthen our thinking toward the sea, accelerate the research and development of marine meteorological forecasting technology and service products, promote meteorological services such as coastal industries, ports, and logistics, and build a new business format for marine meteorological services. Focus on promoting the construction of a meteorological big data application and service center for ASEAN, and provide comprehensive service guarantees for major projects such as the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, the Pinglu Canal, and the Guangxi Water Resources Allocation Project around the Beibu Gulf.
Highlight open development and improve service quality and efficiency. Accelerate the modernization of meteorological social services, actively integrate into the domestic cycle, improve the ability to monitor, forecast and warn of disastrous weather, strive to build the first line of defense for meteorological disaster prevention and reduction, and implement the “Smart Agricultural Meteorology+” enabling action and the “New Quality Meteorological Escort” Productivity” action, “Public Meteorological Service Capacity Improvement” action, as well as the “Guangxi Professional Meteorological Service Improvement Quality and Efficiency” action and the “Guangxi Meteorological Department Standardization Construction” action to empower high-quality development and high-level safety. Actively integrate into the meteorological development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, further enhance the effectiveness of platforms such as the China-ASEAN Meteorological Cooperation Forum, and play a greater role in meteorological exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN.
