The Times reported on the 24th (local time) that a contemporary art museum in France is attracting attention by planning an exhibition that only visitors can enter naked.

According to reports, the Lyon Museum of Contemporary Art (MacLYON) in France will open an exhibition on the 27th in which visitors will be able to appreciate artworks while naked for 90 minutes.

After appreciating the work, visitors have time to talk regarding what they felt while holding a drink together.

The museum explained its planning intention, saying, “Our intention is to see how bodies in a specific place react with other bodies.”

Frédéric Martin, president of the French Nudist Federation, said, “The idea of viewing art in a nude state is interesting.

The title of this exhibition is ‘Embodiment: Body Exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Lyon’. It aims to break away from the 17th-century French philosopher René Descartes’ ‘I think, therefore I exist’ viewpoint, which is called the founder of Western modern philosophy, and focus on the existence of the body.

The entrance fee for this exhibition jointly organized by the Lyon Museum of Contemporary Art and the French Nudist Federation is 11 euros (regarding 16,000 won).

The Times introduced that this is not the first time that an attempt has been made to have the audience appreciate the work in the nude.

France’s Mayol Art Museum opened a surrealist exhibition last year and arranged an order to appreciate the artwork in the nude in the evening, and the audience was evaluated for being able to appreciate the nude sculptures that are indistinguishable from themselves realistically, The Times reported.
