Embiid leads Philadelphia to drop the defending champion

Cameroonian Joel Embiid scored 42 points to settle his confrontation with Greek Yannis Antetokounmpo and lead his Philadelphia 76ers to victory over the defending Milwaukee Bucks (123-120) in the NBA. The victory came after a humiliating loss (135-87) against the Boston Celtics last Tuesday, bringing the Sixers back to life with a wonderful and exciting victory over the defending champion.

Embiid confirmed that he is a strong candidate for the award for the best player in the league this season, after a new super performance with Philadelphia in the last meeting before the All-Star Game at the weekend.
Antetokounmpo was the best scorer in the Bucks with 32 points, while Gro Holiday scored 24 and Chris Middleton scored 19.
However, Embiid and his colleagues won in a confrontation that saw an exchange of progress on 15 occasions.
Embiid, who will play with Kevin Durant’s team in the “All Star” match, said he was determined to prove himself after the humiliating loss to Boston. In this regard, he said: “It was shameful…we learned from what happened. We had to show our quality today and send a message.” He added of his confrontation with Yannis: “This kind of match is always fun, to compete against a great player.”

Slovenian Luka Doncic continued his brilliance and scored 49 points to lead Dallas to victory over New Orleans

Newcomer James Harden missed the match due to an injury that will keep him out of the All-Star Game, after which he will play with the team.
“I’m excited about it,” Embiid said of Harden joining after a resounding deal from the Brooklyn Nets. We are excited about what we can achieve.”
Philadelphia ranks third in the Eastern Province, two places ahead of the Bucks.
In another match, Slovenian Luka Doncic continued his brilliance and scored 49 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to victory over its host New Orleans Pelicans (125-118).
The 22-year-old added 15 rebounds and eight assists, noting that he scored seven three attempts.
The Brooklyn Nets returned to defeat by falling to the Washington Wizards (117-103), while the Miami Heat needed two more games to beat the Charlotte Hornets (111-107).
