For the Swiss, the games once morest Kosovo and Andorra are scheduled in the European Championship qualifiers.

The Nati stars gathered in Valais on Monday.

The bus was the most popular method.

Team bus instead of train

After most of the Swiss had traveled by train to the national team camp in Ticino in June, this time the team bus was the most popular means of transport for the trip to the Valais municipality of Saillon. Ten Nati stars made use of shuttle services from Zurich Airport, including the two Italian legionnaires Remo Freuler and Noah Okafor, treble winner Manuel Akanji and the Bundesliga squad around Nico Elvedi, Ruben Vargas and Gregor Kobel.

Road trip for Yann Sommer

Yann Sommer joined the national team straight from his new home in Italy. The national team goalie was driven to the team hotel by an Italian chauffeur. The journey from Milan to Saillon takes more than three and a half hours. Despite perhaps the longest journey of all national stars, Yann Sommer’s mood mightn’t be better. On Sunday, the new Inter keeper clinched his third win in his third game without conceding a single goal.

Fernandes shows his G-Class

Only Edimilson Fernandes provided a bit of glamor on Monday followingnoon. Born in Sitten, he drove up to his home game in his Mercedes G-Class Brabus. The cheapest variant of the tuned Mercedes is available from a new price of around half a million francs.

Xhaka comes with his successor

As usual, Granit Xhaka was the last to arrive at the team hotel. The captain had his possibly future successor in the national control center with him: Ardon Jashari. After two detours to the U-21s, the Lucerne native was called up for the A-Nati for the first time this year.

Bologna trio travel separately

Unlike Freuler, his two new Bologna teammates did not travel by team bus. Dan Ndoye was driven to Valais by his father Saliou, Michel Aebischer decided to take the train. Both were in the Bologna starting XI in the 2-1 win once morest Cagliari on Saturday and are using the free Sunday to go home. Freuler is likely to be in the Serie A squad for the first time following the international break.

Shaqiri without a suitcase

Xherdan Shaqiri probably took the longest way. He traveled to Valais via Washington. However, he ended up arriving without a suitcase. Because of the many changes, the luggage never made it to Zurich. After all, the Nati star had his hand luggage with him.
