Elvis – ein Traum von Graceland: A Sensational Austrian Premiere at Steudltenn

The Austrian premiere of Hakon Hirzenberger and Rupert Henning’s play “Elivs – ein Traum von Graceland” about the last days of the King of Rock’n Roll was a complete success, which the Zillertaler Zeitung team did not want to miss.

After dinner together, a couple of the Cicero girls went to the Steudltenn in Uderns for the premiere on Thursday, June 29th.

A true masterpiece was created in the 700-year-old threshing floor with magnificent costumes and great stage equipment with artfully used video recordings. The whole audience cheered and roared with frenetic applause.

With this piece about Elvis Presley, Hakon Hirzenberger and Rupert Henning demonstrate a great deal of empathy for the life and personality of the famous singer. Hirzenberger’s direction is cleverly thought out, stirring and clearly brings out all the different aspects of show business and especially its tragic final days. Martin Bermoser perfectly embodies the mental wreck that Elvis is shortly before his death. With tremendous physical exertion and, above all, a voice that comes deceptively close to Elvis’, he lures the viewer into his spell. But the other roles are also sensationally cast, such as the power trio of his Memphis Mafia Gang (David Fuchs, Johannes Rhomberg and Clemens Fröschl), Charlotte Krempl as wonderful, naive Ginger, Johanna Lindinger as an overwhelmed doctor and touching, albeit dominant mother and last but not least a splendid Andreas Gaida as personal hairdresser and friend.

The Zillertaler Zeitung team would like to thank Bernadette Abendstein again for the invitation and congratulate the entire Steudl-tenn team on this excellent production!
