Elvira Tölkes will take over as Head of Quality Assurance at the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand on May 1, 2023. The graduate engineer has more than 30 years of experience in product development, production and quality assurance in the automotive sector. Tölkes comes from Audi, where she was most recently responsible for an interdisciplinary project on digital transformation in the area of ​​software update management and cyber security in procurement and IT. Her predecessor Christiane Engel will move to the Volkswagen site in Osnabrück as spokeswoman for the management and technology management.

Elvira Tölkes began her career in the automotive industry at Opel in 1992 following studying mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern. From 1998 various management positions followed, including director homologation, program management, complete vehicle validation as well as interior development and vehicle safety. From 2011 the manager took over the management of the engine and component plant in Kaiserslautern and from 2014 she was responsible for the management of the plant in Eisenach. Before moving to the Volkswagen Group in 2018, she was Vice President Quality at Opel.(aum)
