Elton John thinks only female artists make good music apart from Sam Fender

Elton John thinks female artists are leading the dance in the music industry. For the English star, women are in the foreground with the exception of Sam Fender, whose songs he also adores.

Elton revealed to Music Week that he’s a fan of the Nova Twins, Wet Leg, Let’s Eat Grandma, The Linda Lindas, and Haim, among others, girl groups he says produce “the best music ever.”

“It’s so great to see these girls rocking and making good music,” he said. “Other than Sam Fender, the guys don’t do much, it’s the girls who make good music. It’s a breath of fresh air because it comes from a certain innocence and pure joy. And to me, that’s music.”

Elton also mentioned Harry Styles when discussing the charts, saying there are “not a lot of good albums in the top 20” before claiming that artists such as Sharon Van Etten and Angel Olsen should be much higher. in the charts.

“It’s great to see Kate Bush in first place,” he continued. “But there aren’t a lot of good albums in the top 20. And the album charts are full of artists like me, ABBA, and Queen. A few things stick out, like Sam Fender or Harry Styles, and sometimes there’s a new artist that goes up to number 3 and then goes back down to 80. It’s depressing. There are a lot of great albums that deserve to be on the charts, such as Juanita Euka, Sharon Van Etten , Angel Olsen.”
