An ELTA employee in Sifnos staged a robbery against herbut – as proved by the police investigation and as she also confessed – she herself had misused the 133,000 euros she had taken from the company’s funds.
According to information, the 46-year-old employee initially testified that at noon on Tuesday, and while transferring the money from ELTA to deposit it in a bank of the island was the victim of a robbery in the Apollonia area.
She stated that the perpetrator put a nylon bag on her head causing her to lose consciousness and fall to the ground. The robber, she told the police, then removed her backpack containing 133,000 euros.
From the investigation by the police of AT Milos, who went to the island, it was not established that a robbery had taken place.
The 46-year-old employee, during the interrogation, fell into contradictions and finally admitted that she staged the robbery. She claimed to the police that she herself had withdrawn the large sum of money earlier.
He did not go into detail about what he spent the money onwhile EL.TA checks the reserves of the branch in Sifnos.
A case file was filed against the 46-year-old employee, and the continuation will be given in the courtrooms.
